Vivite Vibrance should help most forms of hyperpigmentation, including the post inflammatory type from acne. Using it in conjunction with a hydroquinone product such as Obagi Clear is usually best if you want to be agressive in your treatment. If the Obagi Clear is making you break out consider trying a different hydroquinone product, such as Obagi C Clarifying Serum.

Does the Vivite Vibrance work on post inflammatory hyperpigmentation left from acne? What is your recommendation for treating PIH? I am currently using the Obagi Clear but is causing my skin to break out.

Rhonda, I can't advise you without seeing you on whether you should have a peel or not, but I can tell you that Vivite Vibrance is both safe and effective on all skin types, including african-american. Whether or not you have a treatment, it will help to use Vibrance.

Rene, I have investigated your question by contacting Allergan, the makers of Vivite Vibrance and the Vivite system. As far as they know there have not been any reported problems with any of the ingredients in any of the Vivite products when used during pregnancy but they have not been tested in pregnant women so they cannot advice us on safety. My personal advice would be that it is okay to use as none of the ingredients have been reported, to my knowledge, to cause problems but that you should double check with your OB before using any new products during pregnancy.

I would like to know if it is safe for pregnant or breast feeding women to use Vivite' Vibrance, and the entire Vivite' system. Is there any clinical data to verify it's safety? What is the Dr's opinion?

Dear Rose
Vivite Vibrance and all hydroquinone products lighten melanin pigmentation, which comes from the melanocytes in the skin. Dark spots that arise from sclerotherapy are usually due to the deposition of hemosiderin in the skin, an iron-containing substance that leaks out of red blood cells. These products will not work for this condition.
IPL may help you but as you experienced it often does not. Your spots may lighten with time so be patient.

I saw an advertisement on this product and I'm interested in trying it. I would like to try it though on my legs. I've had schlerotherapy which has caused hyperpigmentation. They had me using hiruval cream which is not lightening the areas. I'm asian and they are trying laser (IPL) as well and I see no results. Do you think this product might work for this type of discoloration? Thank you!
